All our Xchange products are manufactured in our Ulm factory in Germany in accordance with strict DEUTZ quality standards and specifications. This includes replacing all wearing parts and bringing all components up to the latest technical stage of development.

HOW DOES OUR XCHANGE REMANUFACTURING PROCESS WORK?

Disassembly

Disassembly of the complete engine. Component-specific and multi-stage cleaning of all reusable parts in compliance with strict environmental regulations.

Diagnosis

Findings and decision on reuse, reprocessing or replacement. Further use of the current series status without exception and access to an extensive findings database and documentation.

Remanufacturing

The engine components are reconditioned according to DEUTZ’s own specifications on modern machinery. This means that the know-how and continuous improvement flows into the new life of our engines.

Assembly

Assembly under series conditions. Replacement of wearing parts by exclusive use of genuine DEUTZ spare parts.

Quality Control

100% function and performance test. Engine test run and adjustment according to manufacturer’s instructions and the internationally valid exhaust and performance regulations.

For customers who need a fast, economical alternative to a complete Xchange engine, DEUTZ offers a range of repair solutions. Professionally reconditioned Xchange short and long blocks offer a quick and affordable solution when it comes to comprehensive engine overhauls. This expert reconditioning meets the same high standards that are applied in engine manufacturing. The result is components that are functionally as good as new with the usual DEUTZ level of quality.

SHORTBLOCK

Short blocks contain the refurbished core engine including the crankcase and core components such as camshaft, crankshaft, piston rods and pistons as well as the engine gasket set. DEUTZ medium-cooled 4 -8 L short blocks are equipped with the oil pump as an additional component. The valve control unit and the entire cylinder head are included with the long blocks.

NEW! DEUTZ UK now offers short blocks from UK stock for selected sub-4 litre engines, including 2.2, 2.9 and 3.6 litre models. This gives customers a faster repair route where the existing engine and machine still justify overhaul, while helping to control costs and reduce downtime.

As well as our immediately available stock engines, we offer a superb engine replacement service. Our factory in Ulm can build a replacement to your original engine’s exact specification. Using all genuine DEUTZ parts, your engine is built, painted and tested in five working days and all to DEUTZ factory specifications.

All replacement engines come with the same warranty as your original engine.  All engine types from the last 40 years are available, from DEUTZ’s world famous aircooled engines through to the latest emissioned TCD 2.9 and 3.6 engines.
