1. The offer
The DEUTZ Engine Health Check is a 12-point preventative inspection and diagnostic check for eligible operational engines. The promotional price is £99+VAT per engine.
The Health Check is available on selected dates and is scheduled alongside existing DEUTZ field service work in the customer’s area. Submission of a request does not guarantee an appointment on a particular date.
2. Eligibility
The Health Check is intended for engines that are operational and have no known current fault or breakdown.
When requesting a Health Check, customers will be asked to confirm whether the engine is operational and whether there are any known warning lights, active fault codes, starting problems, performance issues, unusual noises, leaks or other known concerns.
DEUTZ may ask for additional engine or site information before confirming eligibility and an appointment.
3. Existing faults and breakdowns
The £99+VAT Health Check is not a breakdown call-out or a discounted fault-finding visit and does not include investigation of a known fault or performance problem.
If the information provided before the visit indicates that the engine has an existing fault or breakdown, DEUTZ will direct the enquiry to the appropriate Service or diagnostic support route instead.
If a known or pre-existing issue becomes apparent on site, DEUTZ may stop or limit the Health Check and discuss the appropriate next step with the customer. Any additional diagnostic, repair or breakdown work will be subject to separate authorisation and DEUTZ’s normal charges.
4. Availability and scheduling
Health Check appointments are subject to DEUTZ UK engineer availability, location and route scheduling. DEUTZ will contact the customer to confirm whether and when an engineer can include the site within a planned service route.
DEUTZ may need to rearrange an appointment if the engineer’s existing service schedule changes. Where this happens, DEUTZ will contact the customer to arrange an alternative opportunity.
Any cancellation or rebooking arrangements will be confirmed to the customer at the time the appointment is made.
5. Scope of the DEUTZ Engine Health Check
The exact checks carried out may vary depending on the engine, application, accessibility, configuration and operating conditions. Subject to those factors, a Health Check may include visual inspection, fluid and leak checks, electrical checks, engine diagnostics and fault-code review, exhaust aftertreatment checks, calibration/dataset checks and review of service and maintenance status.
The Health Check is a preventative assessment and 12-check inspection of the engine at the time of the visit. It is not a full strip-down inspection, a guarantee against future failure, or a substitute for servicing and maintenance in accordance with the engine’s recommended schedule.
Where a particular check cannot reasonably be completed, this will be recorded on the Health Report.
6. Site and engine access
The customer is responsible for providing safe and reasonable access to the engine and site and for ensuring that any site-specific induction, access or safety requirements have been communicated to DEUTZ in advance.
If the engineer cannot safely access or operate around the engine, some or all of the Health Check may be unable to proceed.
7. DEUTZ Engine Health Report
Following completion of the Health Check, DEUTZ will provide a PDF Engine Health Report recording the checks carried out, the status of each applicable item and any recommended next actions.
The report reflects the condition and information available at the time of the Health Check. It does not certify that the engine is free from all faults or that a fault will not develop after the inspection.
8. Follow-on service discount
Where the Engine Health Report identifies recommended service or maintenance work, the customer will receive 10% off qualifying DEUTZ parts and labour when the qualifying work is subsequently booked with DEUTZ UK.
The discount applies only to qualifying work relating to recommendations recorded as part of that Engine Health Check and only to the engine covered by the Health Check.
The 10% discount applies to qualifying DEUTZ parts and labour only.
Qualifying follow-on work must be booked within 30 days of the Health Check.
The discount cannot be exchanged for cash, transferred to another engine or customer, or used in conjunction with another DEUTZ promotional discount unless DEUTZ confirms otherwise.
The applicable discount will be shown on the quotation or order for the qualifying follow-on work. Any work outside the qualifying Health Check recommendations will be charged at the applicable standard rate.
9. Additional work and quotations
The £99+VAT Health Check fee covers the Health Check only. It does not include parts, repairs, routine servicing, additional diagnostic investigation or other work identified during or after the visit.
Where further work is recommended, DEUTZ can provide advice and, where appropriate, a separate quotation. No additional chargeable work will be undertaken without the customer’s authorisation.
10. General
DEUTZ may amend, suspend or withdraw the promotion, but any Health Check appointment already confirmed will be handled in accordance with the terms agreed with the customer at the time of booking.
DEUTZ is not liable for loss of profit, production, use or business, or any indirect or consequential loss. DEUTZ’s total liability arising from the Health Check is limited to the fee paid of £99+VAT.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or restricts rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
These promotional Terms & Conditions should be read alongside any applicable DEUTZ UK standard terms governing the provision of service work.
